~ MORE ABOUT AWANA ~
AGE GROUPS
Cubbies: Preschool (ages 3 & 4)
Sparks: Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
T & T: Grades 3rd - 6th
AWANA is divided into three segments:
GAME TIME offers clubbers the opportunity to participate as team members in physical activities which can help develop team spirit, good sportsmanship, coordination skills and self confidence.
HANDBOOK TIME consists of interaction between individual clubbers and his/her leader. Each clubber purchases a handbook to work in. These books are divided into sections. It is our hope that every child will complete his/her handbook. By reciting about 2 sections each club night, with no more than 2 helps per section, a child should be able to complete the handbook within a club year.
COUNCIL TIME includes singing, announcements , contests, and age-appropriate instruction from the Bible, covering topics that will introduce Jesus as savior and show how a personal relationship can be built with Him.
We have special events throughout the year, such as;
AWANA Games
Bible Quizzing
Grand Prix
Roller Skating
Additionally, another part of AWANA is the $1 collected from each clubber. These dues help fund our store and other special activities. As often as possible, please send you child with their dues. For your convenience, you may pay a lump sum in advance which will be credited forward on our records. NOTE: Please be aware that dues are NOT mandatory!
For nearly 60 years, Awana has been a leader in children’s ministry, helping churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ.
Based in the Chicago area, Awana is the only organization with fully intergrated evangelism and discipleship programs for ages 2 to 18 that actively involve parents, church leaders and mentors. Each week, more than a million children and youth, 250,000 volunteers and 300-plus field staff take part in Awana in over 17,000 churches in the U.S. and internationally. Evangelical Free Church of McHenry offers the Awana Program here on Wednesday evenings. Program begins August and runs through April. For more information or questions about Awana contact, Dave Stamos our AWANA Commander.
